The National Federation of Independent Business today commended U.S. Rep. Tom Price of Georgia’s 6th District for introducing H.R. 1874, the Pro-Growth Budgeting Act.
NFIB supports the bill, which would require the Congressional Budget Office to conduct macroeconomic impact analysis of any major legislation, in addition to the cost estimates the budget office already provides.
“Just as the Regulatory Flexibility Act requires federal agencies to evaluate the burdens their rules place on small employers, Congress should consider the economic impact of major legislation on the economy–particularly the impact on small business,” said Kyle Jackson, state director of NFIB/Georgia.
“Dr. Price understands that small business has been hit particularly hard in the struggling economy,” Jackson said. “When faced with a staggering number of regulations at the federal, state, and local level, this bill would require that new mandates be better considered and constructed. NFIB commends Dr. Price on standing up for small business.”
NFIB/Georgia is the state’s leading small-business association with over 7,000 dues-paying members representing a cross section of the state’s economy.
