Dawn Starns, state director of the National Federation of Independent Business, released the following statement today in response to reports that some Louisiana health insurers are imposing double-digit increases in 2015 for policies sold under the Affordable Care Act’s health exchanges:
“Our members are disappointed by today’s news, but they’re not surprised. We’ve said all along that Obamacare makes things worse for small business, not better. Obamacare is crammed with hidden fees and taxes that the insurance companies can’t absorb and have to pass along to their customers. That’s why health care is such as critical issue in this year’s elections, and it’s why we need a Congress that won’t play political games when it comes to the health and well-being of Louisiana’s small-business owners, their employees and their families.”
