State of the State: 'Exactly What We Needed to Hear'

Date: January 22, 2014

Ben Homeyer, state director of the National Federation of Independent Business, released the following statement tonight in response to Gov. Nikki Haley's State of the State Address:

"The governor's speech was exactly what we needed to hear. Governor Haley understands that small business is the engine that drives the state's economy. Her call to ease the tax burden on small businesses, her refusal to buy into Washington's bait-and-switch Medicaid expansion plan and her support of sensible regulations create an environment where small businesses have the confidence to grow and create jobs and lead South Carolina's economy into the future."

NFIB/South Carolina is the state's leading small-business association.
