Massachusetts' entrepreneurs weather economic blizzard
It’s not only snow that Massachusetts small business owners
find themselves digging out from.
Business owners across the state are trying to get on top of a
24 percent sales-dip caused by record snowfall amounts this winter, according
to a survey by NFIB, Massachusetts Business Roundtable and the Retailers
Association of Massachusetts. Owners of retail operations and restaurants
suffered a 49 percent drop in sales. Some 1,600 small business owners were
surveyed, and the majority had less than $5 million in annual sales.
The sales drop “will result in large profitability losses and
cash flow issues for the small employers,” according to findings.
