National Federation of Independent Business launches
radio and digital ads featuring real small business owner to explain why Joni
Ernst is the right choice for Iowans
Iowa (September 12, 2014) – Small business owners in Iowa this week hit the
airwaves and the Internet urging voters to support Joni Ernst in her bid to
become Iowa’s next U.S. Senator.
“Our members have been
growing more and more frustrated with their federal government,” said Lisa
Goeas, a Vice President with the National Federation of Independent Business
(NFIB). “Joni Ernst understands Main Street’s struggles and is eager to fight
for Iowa’s small business community in the U.S. Senate, and NFIB’s small
business owners in Iowa will be out in full force supporting her campaign.”
The group this week launched a flight of radio and
online ads asking voters to support Joni Ernst in a race that could determine
control of the Senate. The effort is part of the NFIB Vote for Main Street campaign. . Click here to listen to the

NFIB also released a Joni Ernst candidate webpage on its National
Election Center website, where voters can go to find tools that make it easy to volunteer, donate and support Joni
Ernst.
“Time and time again, Bruce Braley has stood with
Washington special interests instead of Iowa’s Main Street and small business
communities,” said NFIB Iowa State Director Kristin Failor. “Iowa’s small
business owners and the hardworking people they employ need new leadership in
Washington, and Joni Ernst is far and away the best candidate for the job.”
The website also features a video of Cindy Golding, owner
and operator of Sweet Maple Farms in Cedar Falls, who relates how Washington is
making things harder for small businesses in Iowa and why Joni Ernst is her
choice for U.S. Senate.
“From how much fertilizer
we can put on our hay to Obamacare, Washington’s endless federal regulations
and burdening policies threaten our ability to compete in the marketplace,”
said Golding. “Joni Ernst knows these issues firsthand, she lives them, and she’s
going to represent Iowans’ best interests in Washington.”
The Iowa launch is the third
candidate-specific campaign in NFIB’s broader program to elect “Small Business
Certified” candidates in 2014. Throughout September, the NFIB will be rolling
out similar campaigns to support candidates in battleground states.
“Joni Ernst is a candidate Main Street can be proud
of,” said NFIB President and CEO Dan Danner. “She served our country in the military and has been fighting for Main
Street values in the Iowa legislature. A public servant who knows how to keep
her promises, Joni Ernst will fight for all Iowans in the U.S. Senate.”
