Small Business Wants Some Sasse in the Senate

Date: September 15, 2014

LINCOLN, Neb., Sept. 15, 2014—The voice of American small businesses today announced its endorsement of Ben Sasse for the U.S. Senate.
“He would bring a welcome blend of experience and energy to a legislative body all too calcified by partisan and ideological rancor,” said Bob Hallstrom, Nebraska state director for the National Federation of Independent Business, the nation’s largest and leading small-business association. “As a former assistant secretary for Health and Human Services, Ben Sasse has a thorough understanding of health care policy and has used this knowledge to be an adamant and vocal opponent of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. But what I like the most is the energy he brings to everything he does. His qualities will serve Nebraska well.”
The endorsement was made by the National Federation of Independent Business’ SAFE Trust (Save America’s Free Enterprise), the association’s political action committee. In a survey of its Nebraska membership, 92 percent of respondents thought NFIB should be involved in this race. Out of those who thought NFIB should endorse a candidate, 94 percent supported Ben Sasse, and 6 percent supported Dave Domina.
