Small-Business Owners to Converge on State Capitol

Date: February 02, 2015

PHOENIX, Ariz., Feb. 2, 2015—More than 100 small-business owners from around Arizona will converge on the State Capitol Wednesday, February 4, for a Small Business Day sponsored by 18 groups, including NFIB/Arizona. APS is the title sponsor of the event.
The Speaker of the House, the President of the Senate, and other top Republican and Democratic legislative leaders will make presentations to the representatives of the most important component of the state’s economy: the small-business owners who employ more working Arizonans than big businesses do and generate almost every new job.
With 350,000 dues-paying members nationwide, including more than 6,000 in Arizona, the National Federation of Independent Business is America’s largest and leading small-business association.
Senate President Andy Biggs, House Speaker David Gowan, House Democratic Leader Eric Meyer, and State Rep. Justin Olson, chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, will address the gathering in the morning. Senate Democratic Leader Katie Hobbs and other guests will speak in the afternoon. Reporters wishing to attend are also invited for lunch, courtesy of NFIB, at the same location as the event.
