Indiana Business Owner Testifies in
front of Joint Economic Committee

Washington, DC
(June 4, 2015)
– Dr. Joe Sergio, owner of the Sergio Corporation, South Bend,
Ind., testified today in front of the Congressional Joint Economic Committee
about how Obamacare hold backs his businesses from hiring more employees.
Sergio cited the 30 hour workweek and 50 employee thresholds for the employer
mandate as two ways the law keeps him from expanding his business and his
payroll.

“I have owned businesses for decades and
never in my life have I experience so much anger and frustration as with
Obamacare,” said Sergio. “Instead of focusing on clients’ needs, we worry about
health care regulations. Instead of seeing an opportunity to move forward and
create jobs, we have to reassess to see whether it will push us over the
employer mandate thresholds.”

Sergio Corporation owns and operates two
small businesses. First Response is a disaster restoration company that has
worked across the country. Polar Clean America cleans industrial facilities
through an environmentally friendly dry ice process.

Yesterday, Sergio spoke in the NFIB
television studio about how the law is putting up barriers to employment. He
discussed how the law discourages his business from
hiring full time employees
. He talked about how Obamacare’s 30 hour work week makes it hard for
him to give his employees more working hours. Finally, he related how he and
his employees are dissatisfied with the quality
of health care
after the law’s passage.

Short video of Sergio testifying is available
