Small Business Endorses Will Hurd

Austin, Texas, September 17, 2014 — Today the National Federation of Independent Business, America’s leading small business association, announced its full support and endorsement of Will Hurd in Texas’ 23rd Congressional District.

“Hurd is the clear pro-small business candidate in this critical race for Texas’ 23rd Congressional District,” said Will Newton, Executive Director of NFIB/Texas. “Hurd, who has extensive experience operating and growing businesses, understands the challenges facing small business owners and is passionate about helping alleviate the burdens placed on them by the federal government. His priorities align with those of NFIB and we believe he will be a dependable voice for Texas’ small business owners in Washington, D.C.”

NFIB has 24,000 dues-paying members in Texas representing a cross-section of the state’s economy.  The endorsement comes from NFIB’s Save America’s Free Enterprise (SAFE) Trust, the association’s political action committee, and is based on positions on key small business issues including healthcare, taxes, and labor and regulatory issues.

Small business owners and their employees vote in high numbers and are known for actively recruiting friends, family members and acquaintances to go to the polls.  NFIB will encourage its members to help turn out the small-business vote for Hurd on November 4.
