Small Business Endorses Weh for U.S. Senate

Date: October 20, 2014

SANTA FE, N.M., Oct. 20, 2014—New Mexico’s leading small-business association today announced its endorsement of Allen Weh for U.S. Senate.
“Sen. Tom Udall has a record on small-business issues, and it’s a terrible one,” said Lisa Goeas, vice president for political and grassroots at the National Federation of Independent Business, America’s largest and leading small-business association.
“For every session of Congress, we make it very clear what bills will be helpful or harmful to the nation’s small businesses, and every representative and senator knows we are keeping a scorecard. Since he started casting votes in 1999, Senator Udall has only voted with small business 16 out of 100 times for a dismal, 16 percent, lifetime NFIB voting record. That is not the way to treat the people who employ more working Americans than big business, big labor or big government ever will.
“By comparison, Allen Weh is a successful small-business owner, knows first-hand how job-crushingly burdensome regulations have become, and, as retired Marine colonel, has the drive to do something about them.”
The endorsement of Weh was made by NFIB’s SAFE (Save America’s Free Enterprise) Trust, the association’s political action committee. NFIB has 330,000 dues-paying members across the nation, including 1,400 in New Mexico.
