News Release From NFIB/Colorado
DENVER, Colo., August 15, 2014—At an event this morning in Longmont, America’s largest and leading small business association endorsed Ken Buck for Congress in Colorado’s Fourth District.
“The choice for the Main Street small-business owners of America who employ more than half of all workers and generate almost every new job could not have a sharper contrast,” said Tony Gagliardi, Colorado state director for the National Federation of Independent Business, America’s Voice of Small Business. “Ken Buck knows the keys to prosperity: smaller government and less regulation. He knows the economy does better when the regulatory overreach of the U.S. government is kept in check. We were very impressed with his support of our lawsuit (NFIB v. Sebelius) challenging Obamacare, and he continues to advocate for the repeal and replacement of the law.”
The endorsement of Buck was made by NFIB’s SAFE (Save America’s Free Enterprise) Trust, the association’s political action committee. NFIB has more than 350,000 members nationwide, including more than 7,000 in Colorado. Brief, single-pages of bulleted information on the power of the small-business vote, what a small business is and the distinctions it has from a big business can be found here.
Other congressional endorsements made by the NFIB SAFE Trust can be found on the NFIB/Colorado website. This morning’s event was held at FCI Constructors.
For more than 70 years, the National Federation of Independent Business has been the Voice of Small Business, taking the message from Main Street to the halls of Congress and all 50 state legislatures. NFIB annually surveys its members on state and federal issues vital to their survival as America's economic engine and biggest creator of jobs. NFIB’s educational mission is to remind policymakers that small businesses are not smaller versions of bigger businesses; they have very different challenges and priorities.
