Sen. Thune Talks With NFIB Members

Date: October 23, 2015

On October 13, Sen. John Thune took some time away from legislative business to listen to the concerns of NFIB/South Dakota members via a teleconference. The senator also had some high praise for NFIB.
“There are only a handful of organizations in Washington that have a significant impact on the legislative process, and NFIB is certainly one of those groups. … NFIB has, over the years in my time in both the House and Senate, been a valuable ally in the fight against higher taxes and new regulations … NFIB has been a consistent leader in the fight for tax reform … I’m grateful for organizations like NFIB that work so hard to be a fierce advocate for businesses around the country who are trying to create good paying jobs for people and to create a better standard of living and a better quality of life for people in this country.”
Members from all over South Dakota asked Senator Thune questions about the EPA’s Waters of the United States rule, tax reform, and industry-specific questions such as competitive bidding on durable medical equipment. The full, 40-minute teleconference can be listened to here.
