Superior Concrete in Harrisonburg has been a member of NFIB since 1963. Current owner Tony Wilt, who also is a member of the House of Delegates, representing the 26th District, says the company has never considered letting its membership lapse, even in the difficult times.
“If you’ll recollect, those years, late ’70s, early ’80s, were some pretty tough financial years,” he says. “We were looking at every opportunity to try to make the company more fiscally sound, so, we were doing a lot of innovative things,” such as taking the wheels off of older trucks and putting them on newer vehicles, to avoid the cost of buying new tires. “But one thing we didn’t sacrifice was our membership to NFIB.
“Throughout thick and thin,” he says, “we realized the value of being a member of NFIB and all that that brings to our business.”
