NFIB/Louisiana Presents Guardian of Small Business Award to Rep. Bryan Adams
The Louisiana office of National Federation of Independent Business, the state’s leading small-business association, has presented its coveted Guardian of Small Business Award to state Rep. Bryan Adams (District 43).
The Guardian of Small Business award is the most prestigious honor that NFIB bestows on legislators in recognition of their efforts to support small business issues. The NFIB/Louisiana Leadership Council, an advisory board comprised of NFIB members, voted to present the award to Peacock for supporting small-business issues in the Legislature.
Representative Adams has been a reliable ally of small business since joining the Senate two years ago, said Dawn Starns, state director of NFIB/Louisiana.
“Bryan Adams protected small business from the inventory tax credit repeal by supporting an amendment to his House Bill 805 exempting small business owners who received $10,000 or less in credit back from the state,” Starns said. “He’s vice chairman of the House Appropriations committee and serves on the House Criminal Justice and Judiciary committees, and he earned him a 100 percent voting record in 2013 and 2014, and a 75 percent voting record in 2015.
“Representative Adams understands the needs of local business and the necessity of reducing the government’s role in their lives and the importance business plays in creating jobs,” Starns said.
