North Carolina Governor Grouses About Tax Proposals

Date: September 30, 2015

How NFIB stood up for your business.

Gov. Pat McCrory criticized state legislators for tax proposals within a tentative budget deal saying he believes there are tax increases inside a package that shouldn’t have been hammered out in secret.

The Associated Press writes that NFIB/North Carolina warned members that efforts to expand the sales tax base to cover labor would be an “unfair tax and a huge undue burden on small employers.”  Legislators are already 10 weeks late with a government spending plan.

Three temporary spending plans have since been approved, and the third one expired last Friday.
