NH Senate Defeats Minimum Wage Increase

Date: May 14, 2014

Last week and at the urging of
NFIB, the State Senate voted against the increase in the minimum wage proposal
that would have increased it by 24% and enacted an annual escalator in the wage
rate based on the rate of inflation.

NFIB argued against the
increase by stating that such a proposal would have hurt small businesses and
their employees as employee positions and hours would likely have been reduced
to offset the 24% increase in payroll.
