NFIB/Texas Executive Director Will Newton and Legislative Director Annie Spilman will provide an update on the 83rd legislative session, the bills that resulted from session, and how they affect small businesses across the state. They will also discuss the upcoming elections and how potential outcomes will change the make-up of the Legislature.
Newton & Spilman will delve into employer/employee relationship issues, tax and unemployment reform and – of course – healthcare. You can also expect to learn what’s happening in Interim hearings at the Capitol and possible items in the upcoming 84th legislative session.
On the federal level, Newton will provide a brief overview of our lobbying efforts in Washington, D.C. on subjects ranging from healthcare to employment law to tax reform.
