NFIB/Ohio recently wrapped up our summer 2015 Area Action
Council meetings with members of the Ohio Congressional delegation. NFIB Members from across the state were able
to interact with their member of Congress and ask important questions about
federal legislation important to them.
There were a number of questions on taxes, healthcare and
over-regulation by Washington, but one major area of concern was the Waters of
the US (WOTUS) by the EPA that expands the Clean Water Act. A member in Lake
County shared how they had recently purchased a parcel of land for development,
but due to a ditch on the property that occasionally has water in it they have
been prevented from utilizing the land, even after spending thousands of
dollars in legal fees.
We encourage members with concerns in this area to reach out
to NFIB. We have a webpage dedicated to
this topic and you can sign our petition and share your personally story if this
has impacted you. Visit https://www.nfib.com/article/epa-waters-rule-threatens-small-businesses-65795/
to tell your story and help us fight back against this job killer.
