NFIB/CA Names Tom Scott as State Director

The National
Federation of Independent Business/California, America’s leading small business
association
, announced today that Tom Scott has joined its
California office as State Director.

“I am pleased to be joining NFIB – the State and Nation’s
leading small business organization,” said Tom Scott. “I look forward to
working with the team in Sacramento to advocate for policies and decisions that
help small businesses grow and create jobs in their communities.”

Scott most recently was the
Executive Director of California Citizens Against Lawsuit Abuse for nearly twenty
years. He has an extensive background in both the private and public sectors.  He has worked at all levels of government
including positions in the offices of Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael
Antonovich, former State Senator John Seymour and former U.S, Senator Pete
Wilson.  He also served as a Special
Assistant for Intergovernmental Affairs at the U.S. Department of Commerce
under Robert Mosbacher.

Tom has lived with his wife
Karen and their Welsh Corgi, Rocket in Folsom, California since 1997. He
currently serves on the City of Folsom Planning Commission and was formerly on
the City of Folsom Utility Commission and Folsom Chamber of Commerce Board of
Directors. He earned a B.A. in Political Science from California State
University, Long Beach and a Masters in Public Administration in
Intergovernmental Management from the University of Southern California.
