NFIB/Alabama's Legislative Agenda for 2014

NFIB/Alabama will work to pass legislation that would:
  • Exempt business personal property tax expenditures under $250
  • Increase the average monthly tax liability threshold for a taxpayer to be required to make estimated payments from $1,000 to $2,500
  • Create an amnesty period for dissolving inactive LLCs
  • Restrict product liability against a manufacturer
  • Reduce the corporate income tax rate from 6.5 percent to 5 percent
  • Increase the capitol loss carry forward tax liability to 3 years
NFIB/Alabama will work to defeat legislation that would:
  • Impose a sales tax on labor and services
  • Repeal the state individual income tax deduction for payment of federal income taxes
  • Prevent any additional health insurance mandates added to health insurance policies
  • Repeal “Alabama’s Right to Work”  law
