NFIB Member Will Be Negatively Affected by a Minimum Wage Hike

Date: March 31, 2014

NFIB Pennsylvania recently released a study on the affect of a minimum wage increase on our state.  The results show tens of thousands of job losses and a decrease in the state’s economic output.

To put that in human terms we asked one small business owner and NFIB member to explain how a hike in minimum wage would affect his business.  Paul Fogel, who owns Pocono Whitewater and Skirmish Paintball explained he hires hundreds of teenagers in Carbon County every year and pays them just above the minimum.  He believes an increase in minimum wage will force him to cut some entry level positions and raise prices.
