The state office of the National Federation of Independent Business, the state’s leading small-business association, is hitting the airwaves urging voters to support small business owners Eddie Smith (Knoxville) in House District 13 and Troy Brewer (Bellevue) in House District 50.
Smith is challenging state Rep. Gloria Johnson, who scored only a 30-percent NFIB Voting Record in 2013-14. Brewer is challenging Rep. Bo Mitchell, who posted a 36-percent NFIB Voting Record.
“Troy Brewer and Eddie Smith are entrepreneurs who believe small businesses should be able to do what they do best – create jobs and grow the economy – with government out of the way,” said Jim Brown, state director of NFIB/Tennessee. “Their opponents have voted against much-needed reforms that have restored integrity to our workers’ comp and unemployment systems. NFIB members see clear contrasts in these races, which is why we’re proactively supporting Troy’s and Eddie’s candidacies.”
The 60-second spots are paid for by the NFIB/Tennessee political action committee, the SAFE (Save America’s Free Enterprise) Trust. The spots will begin running the week of Oct. 20.
