NFIB Helps Elect Pro-Small Business Candidates to State, Federal Offices

Date: November 05, 2014

Gregg Thompson, state director of the National Federation of Independent Business, has released the following statement:
“Thanks to the passion and commitment of our members, NFIB/North Carolina helped elect pro-business candidates to state and federal office on Tuesday.
“Forty-two of the North Carolina candidates endorsed by the NFIB SAFE (Save America’s Free Enterprise) Trust won on Tuesday. That includes former House Speaker Thom Tillis, who will be a strong advocate for small business in the U.S. Senate.
“Overall, 31 legislative candidates endorsed by NFIB won, as did all 10 of the candidates we endorsed for seats in the U.S. House of Representatives:
  • Renee Ellmers (2nd District)
  • Walter Jones (3rd District)
  • Virginia Foxx (5th District)
  • Mark Walker (6th District)
  • David Rouzer (7th District)
  • Richard Hudson (8th District)
  • Robert Pittenger (9th District)
  • Patrick McHenry (10th District)
  • Mark Meadows (11th District)
  • George Holding (13th District)

“NFIB is the voice of small business in North Carolina and in Washington, D.C., and on Election Day, our voice was heard loud and clear! Tuesday’s victories were a big step toward our goal of promoting and protecting the right of our members to own, operate and grow their businesses.”
NFIB/North Carolina is the state’s leading small-business association, with 8,000 dues-paying members representing a cross section of the state’s economy.
