NFIB Georgia Member Profile: Jared Sawyer Jr. Ministries

Date: September 01, 2015 Last Edit: January 05, 2016

This NFIB Young Entrepreneur Winner started a business that offers leadership coaching, mentorship programs and more.

When 17-year-old Jared Sawyer Jr. isn’t playing the piano or practicing tae kwon do, he’s busy running his business.

“Jared Sawyer Jr. Ministries is an empowerment organization dedicated to providing faith, family, life and fun by way of social campaigns, conferences, events and societal networking,” Sawyer says.

Sawyer’s passion for gospel ministry, paired with his entrepreneurial drive, led him to create the business in 2007.

Before that, Sawyer had been involved with Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), a nonprofit association for students preparing for careers in business, since he was 11 years old.

At age 15, he published his book, I Belong to God: Staying on the Christian Path to Success. And earlier this year, he published his second book, 911: The Spiritual Emergency System. Both books are available to order online through his website.

Jared Sawyer Jr. Ministries incorporates fiscal and strategic partnerships to establish meaningful initiatives to empower communities and individuals.

Sawyer, of Decatur, Georgia, doesn’t let his youth keep him from pursuing grand ideas and goals, especially when it comes to helping others. Licensed and ordained by the Baptist Church, Sawyer preaches to congregations and organizations and is available for bookings as time allows.

“The experience of starting Jared Sawyer Jr. Ministries has taught me that your network is your net worth,” he says. “As youth, we have potential over those who are older in building meaningful relationships that will advance us in career and partnership formalities.”

He’s teamed up with other national groups including the American Heart Association, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and the National Action Network.

Sawyer gears up to start his freshman year at Morehouse College in Atlanta this fall as a religion major.

“My goal is to grow the business to an international level, continuing to provide inspiration to the masses and give back to the community and its core: youth,” he says.
