NFIB Florida Member Profile: Jeff and Gina Paglialongo of Teeming Vacation Rentals

Employees: 9

Headquarters: Winter Park, Fla.

Teeming Vacation Rentals was started by Jeff and Gina Paglialonga in spring of 2013. In less than 2 years, this vacation rental property management company has grown from 0 to 160 vacation properties, with multiple different market areas.

Although this company is new, Jeff and Gina’s partnership is not. Married for almost 29 years with 4 children, this duo pools their very different skill sets but very common passions in this family run business. Like Henry Ford explained, “Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success.”

How did you get the idea for your business?

As vacation rental property owners ourselves, we saw a need to service both property owners and traveling guests. We had proven strategies from successfully managing our own properties (and our other business) that we were eager to put to work for other vacation rental owners. We are also avid travelers, visiting 6 out of the 7 contents, giving us unique insight to our guest’s needs. We continually strive to offer a service & value to both owners and guests that sets us apart from our competition. We are very relational, love what we do and love doing it together.

What do you love about being small business owners?

Some of the reasons we love being a small business owner, in addition to the satisfaction of building something of our own are having direction over our future, making a tangible difference in the lives of our clients, both taking the risk & reaping the rewards of our ideas, following our passions, connecting with our clients & customers, and having an ability to get things done faster & more efficiently.

What’s the biggest challenge you face as a small business owner?

The biggest challenge we have faced as a business owner is the amount of time we spend meeting government requirements for taxes reporting and licensing. We have a full time person who spends approximately half her time doing so.

What policy issue most concerns you?

The issue that we worry most about as a small business owner is legislation that can eliminate our business overnight. This can be in the form of local ordinances that prevent rentals or other legislation making it impossible to rent properties.

Why did you join NFIB?

I first joined NFIB 14 years ago as an owner of AllProAgency (an Allstate Insurance Agency). I have owned this company for over 24 years. Throughout the years I have been involved in multiple small businesses. My wife and I currently own and operate both AllPro and TeemingVR.

The reason I got involved with NFIB is the knowledge and effort with which I saw them supporting small businesses. I remember reading the magazine and taking an article to my accountant that saved me thousands of dollars in taxes. I have been a member ever since.
