The National Federation of Independent Business, the nation’s and Oklahoma’s leading small-business association, has endorsed Todd Lamb for lieutenant governor.
“Todd Lamb is clearly the best choice for small business,” said Jerrod Shouse, state director of NFIB/Oklahoma. “As the state’s small-business advocate, Todd Lamb has advocated policies that encourage businesses to grow and create jobs,” Shouse said. “Todd Lamb understands the need for sensible regulations and legal reforms that protect small, family businesses from frivolous lawsuits.
“Todd Lamb was a vocal advocate for small business when he served in the state Senate, where he earned a coveted NFIB/Oklahoma Guardian of Small Business Award,” Shouse said. “As lieutenant governor, he pushed for the recent changes to the state’s workers’ compensation system, and he hosts the state’s annual Small Business Day at the Capitol, where he solicits ideas from small-business owners around the state.
“Todd Lamb understands what it takes to keep people working and to keep Oklahoma competitive and build a strong economy,” Shouse said.
The endorsement comes from the NFIB/Oklahoma SAFE (Save America’s Free Enterprise) Trust, the political action committee for NFIB/Oklahoma’s membership, and is based on positions regarding key small-business issues including health care, taxes, and labor and regulations.
Today’s endorsement puts the considerable grassroots support of the state’s small businesses behind the governor’s campaign. Small business owners and their employees vote in high numbers and are known for recruiting friends, family members and acquaintances to vote.
NFIB will encourage its 4,000 dues-paying members across Oklahoma to help turn out the influential small-business voting bloc on Election Day.
