NFIB Endorses Tate Reeves for 2nd Term as Lieutenant Governor
JACKSON, Sept. 2, 2015—The National Federation of Independent Business, the nation’s and Mississippi’s leading small-business association, has endorsed Tate Reeves for a second term as lieutenant governor.
“Tate Reeves is clearly the best choice for small business,” said Ron Aldridge, state director of NFIB/Mississippi. “As lieutenant governor, Tate Reeves has served effectively as president of the Senate and helped protect small businesses from harmful legislation, as well as always making sure our voice is successfully heard on every issue impacting small business
“Tate Reeves has also helped pass a number of bills that make things better for small businesses, including workers’ comp, inventory tax relief and other tax reform, and he supported the creation of the Mississippi Small Business Regulatory Review Committee, which has already protected the state’s small, family businesses from rules and regulations that are outdated or overreaching.
“Tate Reeves understands the crucial role small businesses play in the state’s economy, and our members know they can count on him to push for commonsense legislation that allows them to grow their businesses and create jobs.
“So, on behalf of our 2,800 members across the state of Mississippi, I’m proud to announce our support for Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves.
The endorsement comes from the NFIB/Mississippi SAFE (Save America’s Free Enterprise) Trust, the political action committee for NFIB/Mississippi’s membership, and is based on positions regarding key small-business issues including health care, taxes, and labor and regulations.
Today’s endorsement puts the considerable grassroots support of the state’s small businesses behind the lieutenant governor’s campaign. Small business owners and their employees vote in high numbers and are known for recruiting friends, family members and acquaintances to vote.
