NFIB Endorses Mike Fitzgerald in the 55th District Special Election

Date: June 09, 2015

The National Federation of Independent Business, Georgia’s leading small-business association, has endorsed Mike Fitzgerald in the 55th District House special election on June 16.

The endorsement was made by NFIB/Georgia SAFE (Save America’s Free Enterprise) Trust, which is comprised exclusively of NFIB members.

“Mike Fitzgerald clearly understands the challenges facing Georgia’s job creators,” said Kyle Jackson, state director of NFIB/Georgia. “We asked each of the candidates to tell us about where they stand on the issues facing Georgia’s small, family businesses.

“Mike Fitzgerald, who is a small-business owner and a member of NFIB, is the only candidate to respond, and it was clear from his answers that he will take a fiscally responsible approach to managing state government and support legislation that helps our small businesses grow and create jobs,” Jackson said.

The NFIB/Georgia SAFE Trust’s endorsement is critical to a candidate’s campaign. Small-business owners and their employees vote in high numbers and are known for actively recruiting friends, family members and acquaintances to go to the polls. NFIB has pledged it will activate its grassroots network on behalf of the campaign. NFIB’s political support is based on the candidates’ positions and records on small business issues.

NFIB also is urging small-business owners to encourage their friends, family and colleagues to vote in the 24th District special election. NFIB has not endorsed anyone in that House race.
