The National Federation of Independent Business, Illinois’ leading small-business association, today endorsed Mike Bost for Congress in the 12th District.

“Mike Bost grew up in a family-owned business so he knows first-hand how government policies can impact the free enterprise system,” said Kim Clarke Maisch, state director NFIB/Illinois. “He has been a strong voice for small business on the floor of the Illinois House, and we know he will take that attitude and work ethic to Congress.”

NFIB Vice President of Political Lisa Goeas agreed. “Mike Bost is clearly the best choice for the 12th District. His opponent, Rep. Bill Enyart, has earned only a 30-percent NFIB voting record in the current Congress. Our members can’t afford to keep a congressman who votes against small business, votes against jobs and votes against a stronger community, 70 percent of the time.

“That’s why we need to send Mike Bost to Congress,” Goeas said.

Mike Bost’s endorsement comes from the NFIB SAFE (Save America’s Free Enterprise) Trust, the association’s political action committee, and is based on his record and positions on key small-business issues including health care, taxes and labor and regulatory issues.

NFIB has 11,000 dues-paying members in Illinois, representing a cross section of the state’s economy. Small-business owners and their employees vote in high numbers and are known for actively recruiting friends, family members and acquaintances to go to the polls. NFIB will encourage its members to help turn out the small-business vote on Election Day.
