NFIB Endorses Four Incumbents in Aug. 5 Congressional Primary

Date: July 14, 2014

The National Federation of Independent Business, Kansas’ and the nation’s leading small-business association, today announced the endorsement of four members of the U.S. House of Representatives running for reelection.

“We support the candidates who support small business, and these members of Congress have shown our members they will do everything they can to create an even playing field and make it easier for small businesses to grow and create jobs,” said Dan Murray, state director of NFIB/Kansas, noting that all four incumbents have earned 100-percent voting records so far this congressional session.

The candidates are:
  • Tim Huelskamp (1st District)
  • Lynn Jenkins (2nd District)
  • Kevin Yoder (3rd District)
  • Mike Pompeo (4th District)
NFIB has over 4,000 dues-paying members in Kansas, representing a cross-section of the state’s economy. The endorsements come from NFIB’s SAFE (Save America’s Free Enterprise) Trust, the association’s political action committee, and are based on positions regarding key small-business issues including health care, taxes, and labor and regulatory issues.

Small-business owners and their employees vote in high numbers and are known for actively recruiting friends, family members and acquaintances to go to the polls. NFIB will encourage its members to help turn out the small-business vote for the candidates in the Aug. 5 primary and again in November.
