The National Federation of Independent Business, the state’s leading small-business association, said today it has endorsed Derek Schmidt for a second term as attorney general.
The endorsement comes from the NFIB/Kansas SAFE (Save America’s Free Enterprise) Trust, which is comprised exclusively of NFIB members, and is based on the candidate’s record on key issues such as fighting back against the overreach of federal bureaucrats and their burdensome regulations.
“Derek Schmidt has been a tireless advocate for Kansas’ small, family businesses,” said Dan Murray, state director of NFIB/Kansas. “Our members were especially grateful to the attorney general for joining NFIB and 25 other states in challenging the constitutionality of the misnamed Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare.
“Derek Schmidt understands the issues facing small businesses, and we believe he will continue to work to create an environment where entrepreneurs can start businesses, and those businesses can grow and create jobs.”
NFIB has about 350,000 dues-paying members nationwide, including over 4,000 in Kansas. NFIB members represent a cross section of the nation’s, and the state’s, economy.
Small business owners and their employees vote in high numbers and are known for actively recruiting friends, family members and acquaintances to go to the polls. NFIB will encourage its Kansas members to help turn out the small business vote on Election Day.
