NFIB Endorses Bradley Byrne for Congress in 1st District

Date: October 09, 2014

The National Federation of Independent Business, Alabama’s and the nation’s leading small-business association, today endorsed Bradley Byrne for Congress in Alabama’s 1st District.

“Bradley Byrne has been a tireless advocate for Alabama’s small, family businesses, which is why we need to send him back to Washington,” said Lisa Goeas, NFIB vice president for Political and Grassroots. “Bradley Byrne is the small-business candidate in the 1st District.”

Last month, NFIB honored Byrne as a Guardian of Small Business in recognition of his outstanding support of small business in the 113th Congress. He has earned a 100 percent NFIB Voting Record in the House, standing with small business on issues such as curbing lawsuit abuse, providing tax relief for small businesses and legal reform, tax relief and reducing our country’s dependence on foreign oil while keeping energy prices in check.

“Bradley Byrne supports the issues that matter most to our small-business members,” said Rosemary Elebash, state director of NFIB/Alabama. “Since going to Washington, he has done everything he can to help our members grow and create jobs, and we believe he’ll continue standing for small business in the years to come.”

NFIB has 7,000 dues-paying members in Alabama, representing a cross section of the state’s economy. Byrne’s endorsement comes from NFIB’s Save America’s Free Enterprise Trust (SAFE), the association’s political action committee, and is based on positions regarding key small-business issues including health care, taxes, and labor and regulations.

Small-business owners and their employees vote in high numbers and are known for actively recruiting friends, family members and acquaintances to go to the polls. NFIB will encourage its members to help turn out the small-business vote for Byrne on Election Day. For more on NFIB’s endorsement, visit www.NFIB.com/AL.
