NFIB Endorses Bill Shuster for Congress in District 9 Primary

Date: May 16, 2014

HARRISBURG, (May 16, 2014) - The National Federation of Independent Business, the nation’s leading small-business association, today announced the endorsement of Bill Shuster in his bid for re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives in District 9.

“We support the candidates who support small business, and Rep. Shuster has earned 100% NFIB voting record so far in this Congress," said Kevin Shivers, executive state director of NFIB Pennsylvania. "Day in and day out, Bill Shuster has supported Main Street Pennsylvania by consistently voting for legislation that would help our small businesses grow and create jobs."

NFIB has 15,000 small business members in Pennsylvania representing a cross-section of the state's economy. The endorsements come from NFIB’s SAFE (Save America’s Free Enterprise) Trust, the association’s political action committee, and are based on positions regarding key small-business issues including health care, taxes, and labor and regulatory issues.

Small-business owners and their employees vote in high numbers and are known for actively recruiting friends, family members and acquaintances to go to the polls. NFIB will encourage its members to help turn out the small-business vote for the candidates in the May primary and again in November.
