LANSING, September 8, 2014– The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) announced today the endorsement of State Supreme Court Justice Brian Zahra, Justice David Viviano and Circuit Court Justice James Redford in the upcoming Michigan Supreme Court election.
“Justices Zahra and Viviano are essential members of the Michigan Supreme Court, and their work on the court has kept it a leader in interpreting our laws while avoiding the temptation to create law,” said Charles Owens, NFIB/Michigan State Director. “Their record on the bench reflects a realistic view of the vital role a fair and balanced court plays in addressing the problems facing family businesses and their employees.”
“Circuit Court Justice James Redford has also established a solid record of consistent application of the law that respects the role of the court as judicial – not legislative,” said Owens. “Voter’s must identify and support candidates that are interested in creating a fair, stable legal system – not an ATM machine for trial lawyers.”
Today’s endorsement comes from the NFIB/Michigan SAFE (Save America’s Free Enterprise) Trust, the political action committee for the Michigan organization. NFIB brings its considerable grassroots clout to endorsed campaigns, with voter education efforts directed to its membership.
