NFIB: 3 challenges for your NC business

The NC General Assembly is quickly moving toward the end of the fiscal year but the Senate is passing their version of the budget this week.
The Budget, business registration requirements and insurance mandates, and employee classification are three issues impacting the state’s small business owners right now.

North Carolina’s budget blueprint is a 507-page bill with major policy changes including; Medicaid reform, major education reforms, lottery changes, transportation policy changes and more importantly for our members, tax reform including new tax on services which NFIB is opposed to.
Other bills being debated affecting small business, employee misclassification legislation, business registration requirements, and additional numerous insurance mandates.

The end of the fiscal year is June 30th but there is much doubt that a state budget will be passed by then along with hundreds of bills seeing debated in committees.
