New State Communications Director Joins NFIB’s Texas Office

NFIB/Texas, the state’s largest small business advocacy association, recently announced the hiring of Sarah Tober as the state communications director in the Austin office.

Tober, a native Texan with more than 11 years of public relations and communications expertise, will be leading up NFIB/Texas’ media and public outreach efforts. In addition to her communications roles with Austin Energy and the Texas Historical Commission, she was a small business owner of a sustainable neighborhood grocery store that sourced only Texas-made products in Hutto, an essential experience to her new position.

“Sarah will be an excellent asset to our organization and the Texas small business community going into the 84th Legislative Session. She is a seasoned communications professional with a passion for small business advocacy,” said NFIB/Texas Executive Director Will Newton.

In addition to her work experience, Tober has been an avid community supporter through her volunteer work with Pug Rescue Austin, as a Texas Master Gardener in Travis and Williamson County, Sustainable Food Center, and served on the League of Women Voters Austin board, City of Hutto Historic Commission and Keep Hutto Beautiful board. She also attended the University of Texas at San Antonio, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations.
