New Right-to-Work Law Withstands First Legal Challenge

Madison judge scuttles challenge to law.

Not long after the ink dried on Wisconsin’s new right-to-work law a Madison judge held a hearing on its legal legitimacy.

Wisconsin’s chapter of the AFL-CIO and two other labor unions challenged what they argued was an “unconstitutional” law in a lawsuit. The labor union argued that the law is a violation of their property rights.

In March, Judge William Faust denied a temporary injunction that would have prevented enforcement.
