Small business owners from around the state gathered at
the State Capitol on Tuesday, March 24 to learn more about issues facing
small business, interact with state Representatives and Senators and hear from
legislative leadership and other policy makers.
Presenters included Speaker of the House Kevin Cotter, Senate Majority Leader
Arlan Meekhof, Senator Jack Brandenburg – Senate Finance Committee
Chairman and Clay Tierney from the Unemployment Insurance Agency. Among the
issues discussed were the upcoming Proposal 1 to raise the sales tax,
prevailing wage repeal, attempts to impose mandatory paid leave and regulatory
