State exchange becomes $1 billion fiasco.
Massachusetts’ Commonwealth Connector Under Investigation
A new report in May offered small business owners a whistleblowers’ look into the unprecedented dysfunction of Massachusetts’ Health Connector meltdown.
According to an investigation by the Boston think tank the Pioneer Institute, the fallout from the failed state exchange is $1 billion and growing.
“Citizens should demand accountability of public officials that left us with this mess, and try to prevent this from becoming an IT version of the Big Dig,” said Pioneer Institute Senior Fellow in Healthcare Josh Archambault.
The report, which is based on third-party audits and interviews with whistleblowers, found that 325,000 Massachusetts residents “were placed in a transitional Medicaid program without any eligibility determination.”
