Maryland Minimum Wage will Increase to $8.00 on January 1st

Date: December 03, 2014

The first phase of the minimum wage increase,
which was voted into law earlier this year, will go into effect on Thursday January 1, raising minimum wage to $8.00 per hour. The second phase of the increase will be effective July 1, 2015 and will
raise the state minimum wage to $8.25 per hour. NFIB strongly opposed

Wage phase-in, note two increases in 2015:

  • January 1, 2015 –
    $8.00/hour
  • July 1, 2015 – $8.25
  • July 1, 2016 – $8.75
  • July 1, 2017 – $9.25
  • July 1, 2018 – $10.10
