Make Sure You Will Comply With Ohio's New Minimum Wage For 2015

Date: October 01, 2014

As of January 1, 2015 the minimum wage for non-tipped employees rose by ten cents from $7.95 to $8.10 per hour.  Any tipped employees saw their base pay go from $3.98 to $4.05 an hour.

This bump is attributed to the voted in constitutional amendment in 2006 that raises the minimum wage in Ohio each year based on the Consumer Price Index that increases it to meet inflation. The bump will impact about 330,000 employees in Ohio, bringing a 40 hour work week employee from $318 per week to $324.

Companies with gross receipts of less than $297,000 in 2014 and for those workers under the age of 16, the minimum wage remains $7.25, which is the federal minimum wage.
