Legislature Overrides Nixon's Veto of Tax Bill

Date: May 06, 2014

Brad Jones, state director of the National Federation of Independent Business, has released the following statement in response to the Legislature’s vote to override Governor Nixon’s veto of Senate Bill 509:

“Small-business owners across the state applaud today’s override of the governor’s veto. Allowing small businesses and individuals to keep more of their hard-earned money will drive Missouri’s economy forward and help make the state more competitive in the Midwest. Our members believe Senate Bill 509 represents a sensible approach to tax reform, and today’s override represents a vote of confidence in Missouri’s job creators, its small businesses.”

NFIB/Missouri is the state’s leading small-business association, with 8,700 dues-paying members representing a cross section of the state’s economy.
