law changes will affect you –

After a long and hard fought battle in the Ohio General
Assembly, House Bill 5, the bill to reform Ohio’s convoluted municipal income
tax structure finally cleared both chambers with bipartisan support in December
of 2014 and was signed into law by Governor Kasich. This was a top legislative
priority for not only NFIB/Ohio but the more than 30 members of the Municipal
Tax Reform Coalition.

Now, we encourage you to ensure that you are as prepared as
possible as the state begins to implement the sweeping changes contained in
Ohio’s municipal income tax reforms. You can participate in a two-hour webcast
that reviews the reforms outlined in HB 5 as well as the impact of the recent
tax changes adopted in the recent state budget bill.

Former Ohio Tax Commissioner Tom Zaino, CPA, JD, Zaino Hall
& Farrin LLC, will dive into the new law and help you plan NOW for changes
that will impact both employers and your associates. Get dialed into the most
current information as Zaino dissects the law’s major provisions, including:

Occasional entrant rule

  • Net Operating Loss schedule
  • Definition of taxable income
  • Filing and payment requirements
  • Appeals, extensions and new taxpayer rights
  • Changes to consolidated returns

Additionally, this session provides an update on municipal income
tax changes adopted in the recent state budget bill, such as:

  • Affidavits in lieu of filing
  • Clarification on NOLs
  • And more

Don’t miss your chance to become fully versed in all aspects
of the new law as you prepare for its implementation and effect on your clients
or your day-to-day operations.
