It began with former state Rep. Tom Forese’s desire to work with NFIB to make Arizona the most hospitable – not hostile – state in the nation for small-business owners, and it continued with Rep. Warren Petersen taking the baton when Forese was elected to the corporation commission.
In a guest editorial for the Phoenix Business Journal, NFIB/Arizona State Director Farrell Quinlan writes about the new law both men and NFIB forged.
“Somewhat idealistically, the legislation Peterson developed with NFIB seeks to reform the ‘corporate culture’ of our regulatory agencies by requiring them to offer regulated persons an opportunity to correct rule violations when the infraction essentially is non-serious and unintentional instead of reflexively issuing a fine or citation,” wrote Quinlan.
