GOVERNOR BRANSTAD HONORS JOB CREATING BUSINESSES

DES MOINES (March 10, 2015): The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) celebrated today’s proclamation signing declaring March 10th Iowa Business Day as Governor Branstad makes good on his continued commitment to the small business community throughout the state.
“We were honored to be part of today’s festivities with our friends at ABI. Governor Branstad has stood firmly with small business in Iowa through some difficult economic times and as the economy begins its slow, but steady recovery, we are able to celebrate the contribution that entrepreneurs have made to our improving fiscal condition.” said NFIB Iowa State Director Kristin Failor, “Many states continue to face insurmountable financial challenges due to poor leadership from their elected officials. Iowa has the good fortune of being led by a Governor that is not afraid to make the difficult choices necessary to govern.”
There are over 80,000 businesses in Iowa that account for 1.2 million jobs. Today’s proclamation touted those businesses for keeping Iowans employed and strengthening the economy.
“In order for small businesses to succeed, it is imperative that they are not overwhelmed with government interference and over regulation. Governor Branstad understands that and today publically declared his personal appreciation for the value that Iowa businesses bring to our economy and our communities. We thank him for his continued support and ability to lead us to a brighter economy filled with employment opportunities for our citizens and a friendly climate for our businesses.” Continued Failor.
