Enduring Lie Just Victimized 190,000 Coloradans

Date: March 16, 2015

DENVER, Colo., March 16, 2015—Strong reaction today from a late Friday-afternoon announcement by Division of Insurance Commissioner Marguerite Salazar that 190,000 Coloradans who were promised they could keep their pre-Obamacare health-care plans, now cannot.
“The latest action by Commissioner Salazar is just another indication of the collision course the Affordable Care Act is on,” said Tony Gagliardi, Colorado state director for the National Federation of Independent Business, America’s largest small-business association, representing the people also at the center of the health-care debate.
“The purpose of this action is to force many of the 190,000 who will lose their coverage into the state-run Colorado Exchange in order to help cover up its absolute failure to provide the small-business community a lower-cost marketplace.”
The quote in the sub-headline above is President Obama’s, which former U.S. Rep. Barney Frank of Massachusetts took him to task for last year, “But frankly, he should never have said as much as he did, that if you like your current health care plan, you can keep it. That wasn’t true. And you shouldn’t lie to people. And they just lied to people.”
