In another bright spot for job creation, a UBS analysis finds that the majority of the jobs created over the last two months have paid well. Some 257,000 new jobs are in high-wage and mid-wage industries, with 210,000 in lower-wage sectors. This is a shift from past job creation in the recovery from the Great Recession, when many jobs were in lower-paying fields like the service industry and in-home healthcare.
In addition, one sector that has sent many jobs overseas is beginning to return home. Call centers are returning to the US due to rising overseas labor costs, customer complaints about poor service, and changes in technology.
