HARRISBURG, (May 5, 2014) – The National Federation of Independent
Business, the nation’s leading small-business association, today announced the
endorsement of Greg Rothman in his bid for the state House of Representatives
in the 87th district.
“We support the candidates who support small business, and Greg
Rothman is one of those candidates,” said Kevin Shivers, executive state
director of NFIB Pennsylvania. “What makes Greg unique, and why his voice
is needed in Harrisburg, is that he knows what it means to sign the front of a
paycheck.”
“With a state budget that is four weeks late, and billions of
dollars in tax increases on small businesses and working families on the line,
this election is critically important.
Greg Rothman has balanced budgets at home and at his family’s business,
and we feel confident that he will stand strong against the tax increases being
sought in Harrisburg.”
Greg Rothman is running to fill the position of State
Representative in the 87th district, which was vacated by Glen Grell
earlier this year. He is currently the
President and CEO of his family’s real estate business, RSR Realtors, which is
one of the largest real estate businesses in central Pennsylvania.
NFIB has 15,000 small business members in Pennsylvania
representing a cross-section of the state’s economy. The endorsements come from
NFIB’s SAFE (Save America’s Free Enterprise) Trust, the association’s political
action committee, and are based on positions regarding key small-business
issues including health care, taxes, and labor and regulatory issues.
Small-business owners and their employees vote in high numbers and
are known for actively recruiting friends, family members and acquaintances to
go to the polls. NFIB will encourage its members to help turn out the
small-business vote for the candidates in the May primary and again in
November.
