Survey Finds About Half Of Small Business Owners Expect Economic Conditions To Improve This Year
An online survey conducted by the Wall Street
Journal and Visage International indicates that small business owners are more
optimistic about economic conditions for 2015. The survey of some 830 small
business owners earning less than $20 million in annual revenue found that
about half expect conditions to continue improving in 2015. This is a marked
improvement from last year, when 38 percent expressed the same sentiment.
Likewise, 80 percent expect better sales this year, up from 77 percent a year
ago.
What This Means For Small Business:
While small business owners’ growing confidence could be tempered by a number
of issues, including increased healthcare costs in the new year and minimum
wage increases in a number of states, the fact that they are starting the year
in a more confident frame of mind could boost hopes for increased economic
activity this year.
