Big Health-Care News Coming to Pasco, Wenatchee and Yakima

Date: April 28, 2015

The legislation is on Gov. Jay Inslee’s desk as of this posting, and if he signs it as expected, the state will finally have an effective All-Payer Claims Database (APCD), putting real health-care choices and cost-savings within reach of every consumer in Washington.
NFIB members are invited to listen to a free informational presentation on what all the APCD is intended to do and other health-care news by the Washington Health Alliance, of which NFIB/Washington is a member. NFIB labored long and hard on the creation of an effective APCD and is delighted to work with the WHA on spreading the word.
Also at these meetings, you’ll be introduced to the Washington Health Alliance and what it does, learn about its performance reporting process and timeline for publicly reporting clinic, medical group and hospital level results starting in fall and see the recent community checkup report and website for examples of how local information will be shared.

The Washington Health Alliance serves to build a strong alliance among purchasers, doctors, hospitals, health plans, patients and others to promote health and improve quality and affordability by reducing overuse, underuse and misuse of health-care services.

You can learn more about the Alliance at www.wahealthalliance.org. The following places and times are free of charge, but a reservation is required and can be made with John Gallagher, director of communications and development for the WHA, by clicking here.
